While I was in the hospital, my mother filed a complaint with the courts to bring this child rapist to justice. After I was released from the hospital, my mother could not keep her job as she needed to be with me. So, she had to quit her job. Times were very hard, but she gave me the strength to testify against the man who had been sexually abusing me for the last 5 years. I wanted this rapist to spend the rest of his life in prison where he would never be able to hurt another child.
We went to the trial and when it was all over, the child rapist admitted his guilt and I had won. I cried the tears of a warrior and although I still feel the pain to this day, I continue my studies with the support of my mother (who has always been by my side, giving me the courage and words to motivate me), family and friends.
